Game Travels – The Retro Play Show with Allahweh

Yesterday I participated in a streaming session with the ever awesome Jessica “Allahweh” Brown. She played Bionic Commando and we discussed the game (and other things) at great length. She asked me which game I wanted to have on this show awhile back, and Bionic Commando was at the top of my list. We were able to get through about half the game (more or less) and there will eventually be a part 2. The Video for this stream is now up on her channel on Youtube and thus I present it to you now.

I took a “How much do I want to be a Writer” quiz today. The quiz has six questions and each question must be rated 1 – 10. 1 being the least and 10 being the most.
It is a self scored quiz and I ended up with a 56.
Here is a link to the quiz.
My biggest issue is getting distracted and letting life keep me from writing. That is something I need to work on.
I have a plan for that!
I always have a plan…

Actually my plan is something I came up with last year.
My moving over two thousand miles in eight months made me forget about it for a bit.
It boils down to writing a short story a week, publishing short stories via Amazon and other sites while shopping movie scripts and books around to major studios/publishers.
I am setting up a schedule to pay my bills through online writing. Hopefully I won’t have to do this much longer. I need to start being more aggressive in finding other work.
In other news, there is a cool interview about Wasteland 2 on the web.

In sad news, I won’t be at Phoenix Comic Con this year.
God willing, I can go next year as a guest.
Stranger things have happened, no?
Right now I just need to concentrate on getting bills paid, getting my car legal, and getting more stories/comics written.
Life is beautiful.
Another thing I want to do is explore the East Coast.
I’m also continuing my constant battle with losing weight. I SHALL WIN THIS! *Brandishes a scale*

Movie Madness – Snatch

One of my favorite English crime movies is Snatch. Directed by Guy Ritchie, this great action comedy stars Jason Statham and Brad Pitt. Made before Guy Ritchie became attached to Madonna, this movie shows a flair for both dialogue and cinematography. Snatch has much of the same tone as Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels, but is handled with a bit more experience and care. Just be warned: This is a gangster movie so there is some langauge. It is worth watching just to see if you can understand what Brad Pitt says throughout the flick.

This is a stylish crime caper that combines comedy, action, and great actors to make a fine movie. I can honestly say this is one of my favorite movies to come out of British Isles in the last 15 years.

Have you ever thought “Boy, I live in a Big Country?”
That point was driven home for me in 2001.
I drove a South Korean guy I was working with from Yellowstone National Park to Salt Lake City.
This was about two weeks before 9/11.
He couldn’t get over how expansive the USA is. He was just in awe of the sheer space of Idaho and Utah.
I wonder if we citizens of big countries like the USA, Canada, Australia, just don’t realize how much we take space for granted.
We need a good video to emphasis this point.
In a Big Country by Big Country, of course.
I want to be in a band where the hit song is the name of the band. That would rock.
I bet there is a website or a web post dedicated to just that.

I had a weirdly emotional day yesterday. Not because of anyone, but because I find it hard to accept good things happening to me.

That is a rhetorical question. No need to really answer that.
Ah well. Life is Beautiful.
It can be turbulent at times. It can also be dark and full of unrest. But after the rain and storms?

However, sometimes we have to forget it all and dance in the rain.

The OtakuSphere – Doctor Who

Today I am sharing a very cool version of Dr. Who. It is the good Doctor seen in a vastly different style. Paul Johnson (His Deviant Art Page) spent a couple of years working on this Thirteen minute short. It takes clips from various Episodes of the Doctor and combines them in to a kick butt anime short. Check it out below:
